STUDIO VISIT Simon Ganshorn
Some collaborations happen by chance. Others, when conditions are just right.
The collaboration with Simon Ganshorn is a bit of both. What began as a conversation became a creative exchange – sparked by a shared appreciation for objects, aesthetics, and the stories they hold.
Simon, known for his work with Tableau Gallery, approached us with a request: to use our pieces as part of his latest installation. And we instantly said yes. There was something wonderfully unfiltered about Simon’s approach, and we’ve always been drawn to the unexpected. At August Sandgren, we’ve long enjoyed crossing paths with the arts – be it through projects with @sophieklerk or @j_knipschild. Collaborations that blur the lines between function and expression.
Simon selected some of our most timeless pieces – The Box, Serving Trays, our Weekend Bag and Notebooks – to weave into his universe at Tableau Gallery. There, they became more than storage. They became sculpture. Texture. Silence. Statement.
For us, this partnership is more than just showing our objects in a new light. It’s about the freedom to explore, to reinterpret, and to keep craft alive in new and meaningful ways.
This is what the STUDIO VISIT series is all about: the intersection of old-world craftsmanship and modern creativity. Simon Ganshorn embodies this beautifully.
See the collaboration unfold at Tableau Gallery until the 02.05.2025.
